Last year I did Coorg twice and still came back feeling like something was missing  So this time I decided to finally do Thattekad , a place I’ve heard so much about.

I ended up doing 5 sessions in total. Evenings were spent in two different hides, but the real highlight for me was the morning at Urulanthanni Rock 

The best part? You’re basically at eye level with the canopy because of how the trees sit around the rock,  which means some really clean, close, super satisfying bird shots 

After around 9:30 AM, it’s forest time… and the whole “hunt” for the Trogon and Frogmouth was honestly pretty fun and kept things exciting.

That said… despite all the hype, I’d say Thattekad is just okay. Nice experience, but not exactly “wow, must-repeat” for me.
The stay was comfortable, but the food was pretty sub-par.
